Colorado in the fall! Gold and Silver mines. Mountains. Colorful Aspens. You can almost hear the whistles of Colorado’s fabled Narrow Gauge Railroads as their history echoes around you. The 29th National narrow Gauge Convention will have all this and more. Come and be with your fellow modelers and merchants during this spectacular time of the year in Colorful Colorado. Our goal is to give you more to do than is possible!!

Bring the family because whatever you’re looking for you’ll find in the Pikes Peak region and Colorado Springs. For instance, how about 14,100-foot Pikes Peak, Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Cripple Creek and Victor, The Royal Gorge, Manitou Springs, the U.S. Air Force Academy, or perhaps the U.S. Olympic Training Center?   • Narrow Gauge Along The Chili Line - The organizers of last November’s “Narrow Gauge Along The Chili Line” meet are considering a repeat of the guided tour looking at the railroad remains along the line from Antonito to Santa Fe. We currently are considering having the tour on Monday Sept. 21, 2009 after the Narrow Gauge Convention in Colorado Springs. Planning is underway and we would like to know the extent of interest in participating in such a tour. Go to our website and express your interest through the Request to Attend page.

  • We are working with the Western Museum of Mining & Industry to have their stamp mill operating during the convention.

  • Special - Rio Grande Scenic RR is offering an upgrade to the dome car with a purchase of a regular ticket to Convention Registrants.

  • Colorado Railroad Museum intends to have a Goose running during Convention week.

  • Pre-Convention Special Events and tours on the C&TS, Rio Grande Scenic RR, Royal Gorge RR, etc – Watch the web site for announcements as arrangements are completed.

  • Doubletree Hotel is sold out. Rooms are still available at the overflow hotels. We will have a shuttle service between all the overflows and the Doubletree. Check the Hotels page for more information.

  • We found a limited number of Coffee Mugs left over from the 1998 Narrow Gauge Convention. Only a couple of dozen available of each color." Check the Store page for more information.
